Privacy policy

Come and play. We'll keep it simple.

Beauty In Math is a place to wonder at math and make things with it. You don't need an account, there's nothing to fill in, and there are no ads. Here's exactly what happens when you visit.

What we don't collect

  • No accounts or sign-ups. You never give us your name, email or password.
  • No forms. There's nothing on the site that asks you to type in details about yourself.
  • No ads, nothing sold. We don't show advertising, and we don't sell or share anything about you.
  • Your drawings stay with you. The snowflakes, spirals, circles and dragons you make are drawn by your own browser. Nothing you make is sent to us or anyone else. When you download a picture, it goes straight to your device.

Google Analytics, only if you say yes

When you first visit, a small banner at the bottom of the page asks whether we may use Google Analytics. If you choose No thanks, it doesn't load at all. If you choose Accept, Google Analytics sets cookies and records things like:

  • which pages and pieces you visit, and for how long
  • roughly where in the world you are (country or city, not your address)
  • the kind of device and browser you're using
  • how you found the site, for example from a search

We use this only to see which pieces people enjoy, so we know what to make more of. Google's advertising features (Google signals and ad personalization) are switched off. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy.

Changed your mind? Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page to say yes or no again, whenever you like. Your browser remembers your choice so the banner doesn't keep asking.

For teachers, parents and young visitors

Kids are welcome here with a teacher or adult nearby. Since nobody signs up or types in personal details, there's nothing personal for children to share. If you'd rather no visit data is recorded at all, simply choose No thanks on the banner.

Questions or changes

Beauty In Math is a project still taking shape. If what we collect ever changes, this page will change first. Questions about your privacy? Write to hello@beautyinmath.com.
